The drive by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to promote improved access to quality primary education has received a significant boost with the donation of 10,000 exercise books by the Aniocha South Local Government Council for distribution to pupils in public primary schools across the council area.
The donation is aimed at supporting effective teaching and learning in public primary schools and underscores the shared commitment of SUBEB and local government councils to strengthening basic education delivery in Delta State.
Receiving the exercise books on behalf of the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, the Permanent Secretary of the Board, Sir Byron Unini, commended the Aniocha South Local Government Council for the timely intervention. He praised the council’s swift response to the Board’s partnership appeal and noted that the growing collaboration between SUBEB and local government councils was already yielding positive results for basic education.
Sir Unini emphasized that such collaborative efforts are critical to addressing resource gaps in schools and ensuring that pupils have access to essential learning materials needed for academic success.
The exercise books were presented on behalf of the Council Chairman by the Head of Personnel Management, Dr. Ofunne Jones, who reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting education at the grassroots level.
It will be recalled that a similar donation of exercise books was made recently by the Sapele Local Government Council, further demonstrating the effectiveness of partnerships between SUBEB and local government councils in promoting teaching and learning in public schools.
The Board reiterated its appreciation for the continued support from local government councils and reaffirmed its commitment to working with all stakeholders to enhance access to quality basic education across Delta State.
