
Quality Assurance: Delta SUBEB Begins 3-Week School Monitoring in 72 Schools Across Six LGEAs

The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has commenced a three-week Continuous Quality Assurance Exercise in 72 Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across six selected Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) in the State.
The exercise, which commenced on May 12 and will end on May 26, 2026, is aimed at strengthening educational standards and improving the quality of teaching and learning in public basic schools across the State.
Speaking during the monitoring exercise at Ajanesa Primary School, Ogharefe, in Ethiope West LGEA, the Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mrs. Demes Omoniye, speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Delta SUBEB, Hon. Samuel Mariere, said the exercise was designed to assess compliance with educational standards, monitor teaching and learning activities, evaluate school management practices, and ensure effective implementation of government educational policies and programmes in public basic schools.
She noted that the exercise is being carried out in 72 Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across six selected LGEAs, with 12 schools selected in each LGEA, namely Aniocha North, Ika North East, Ethiope East, Ethiope West, Ndokwa West and Patani.
Mrs. Omoniye added that the Quality Assurance Team will continue to engage schools to ensure strict adherence to approved standards, while encouraging effective teaching and learning outcomes.
At Ajanesa Primary School, Ogharefe, Ethiope West LGEA, the monitoring exercise was led by the Education Secretary, Ethiope West LGEA, Mr. Osuna Godwin, alongside evaluators from the LGEA, including the Team Lead from SUBEB, Mr. Onwubuya Joseph, Mrs. Somnazu Nkechi, and other members of the evaluation team.
The Board has directed all Education Secretaries, Head Teachers, and relevant stakeholders in the affected areas to ensure adequate preparation and availability of school records and other relevant documents for the exercise.
The Board further urged schools to cooperate fully with members of the Quality Assurance Team and ensure punctuality and regular attendance of teachers and pupils throughout the monitoring period.
Delta SUBEB has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of basic education delivery in Delta State through continuous monitoring and evaluation of schools across the State.
