Delta SUBEB Holds Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols – Mariere Recounts Board’s Achievements

The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has held its annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, bringing together board members, staff, and key education stakeholders in an atmosphere of worship, reflection, and thanksgiving.
The event, held to mark the close of the year’s official activities, featured scriptural readings, renditions, and prayers, underscoring the values of faith, unity, and service that guide the Board’s work in the education sector.
In his address, the Executive Chairman Delta SUBEB, Hon Samuel Mariere, expressed profound gratitude to God for His guidance throughout the year, noting that the Board’s achievements were the result of divine grace, collective effort, and institutional commitment.
“This season of thanksgiving reminds us that our achievements are strengthened by faith, unity, and service,” he said.
He recounted the Board’s notable achievements, including improvements in basic education delivery, enhanced teacher capacity development, infrastructural interventions in public primary and junior secondary schools, and strengthened collaborations with relevant education agencies.
Mariere commended the dedication and resilience of SUBEB staff, school administrators, and teachers across the state, describing their contributions as central to the progress recorded so far. He emphasized that teamwork and accountability remained key drivers of the board’s success.
Reaffirming the Board’s resolve to deepen reforms, Hon Mariere assured stakeholders of SUBEB’s continued focus on quality and inclusiveness in basic education.
“We remain focused on sustaining reforms that will deliver quality and inclusive basic education across Delta State,” he reinstated
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols concluded with prayers for peace, renewed strength, and greater achievements in the education sector in the coming year.
