Delta SUBEB Tackles Classroom Furniture Gap with 1,000 HDF Two-Seat Pupils Furniture in 12 schools

Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has begun the distribution of 1,000 units of High Density Fibreboards (HDF) two-seater pupils’ furniture to twelve public schools across the state.
The distribution of 1,000 units of two-seater pupils’ furniture is a follow up of a press briefing by Delta SUBEB where Executive Chairman, Hon. Samuel Mariere, had assured the public that the Governor had already put measures in place, to address furniture gaps across affected schools.
Hon Samuel Mariere, said the furniture is being sent to schools identified as most in need, following a statewide assessment of classroom infrastructure carried out by the Board.
He explained that the procurement and distribution of new pupils’ furniture had been activated as part of the administration’s commitment to ensuring that no child learns under uncomfortable conditions.
The 12 selected schools and their allocations are as follows:
- Olodiama Primary School (Ughelli South LGEA) – 50 units
- Aganbi Primary School, Eku (Ethiope East LGEA) – 100 units
- Emadadja Primary School, Adadja (Udu LGEA) – 100 units
- Urhobo College, Effurun (Uvwie LGEA) – 100 units
- Ufuoma Junior Secondary School (Ughelli North LGEA) – 100 units
- Erovwaremi Primary School (Ughelli South LGEA) – 100 units
- Eghreka Primary School, Ewu (Ughelli South LGEA) – 100 units
- Edjephew Primary School, Edjephew (Ughelli South LGEA) – 100 units
- Erho Junior Secondary School, Abraka (Ethiope East LGEA) – 50 units
- Owholemu Primary School, Olomoro (Isoko South LGEA) – 100 units
- Ohe Primary School, Ugbodu (Aniocha North LGEA) – 50 units
- Adane Opke Primary School, Oreropke (Okpe LGEA) – 50 units
The SUBEB Boss, further emphasized that the intervention focuses on schools assessed to be critically short of basic furniture. He added that the initiative underscores Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s dedication to strengthening basic education infrastructure for pupils across the state.
The SUBEB Boss who expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for progress made thus far in that regard, reaffirmed that more schools will benefit from subsequent phases of the furniture development programme.
A staff of Emadadja Primary School, thanked the Delta State Government for the swift response and intervention, noting that the provision of the new furniture has already improved the learning environment and made it easier for pupils to sit and learn comfortably.
In the same vein,Staff and students of Urhobo College, Effurun, who have also received their allocation, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the timely intervention describing it as a clear demonstration of the administration’s dedication to pupils’ welfare and educational development.
